The Process

  • An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is commissioned by the client. The client can be the homeowner, estate agent, HIP provider or a representative thereof.
  • An inspection date and time will be agreed between the client and the Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA). Fox Energy Assessors offer inspections at a time suitable to the client, including evenings and weekends.
  • The DEA will inspect the property and make detailed site notes which will include photography of certain energy related items (enabling external Quality Assurance procedures to be met). The DEA will need access to all parts of the property including the loft, all rooms on all floors, air and water heating components (boilers, thermostats, controls etc.) and the external of the property.
  • Information regarding the construction type and date of the main property and any extensions will be gathered, together with any post fitted insulation, double glazing or other energy performance measures.
  • The collected data will be processed and an EPC will be generated. This will be lodged on the central register managed by Landmark on behalf of the Government.
  • A Report Reference Number (RNN) will be issued and the certificate can be downloaded directly from the register at www.hcrregister.com
